Oconee County I-85 Corridor Sewer Expansion

As part of an IDC with Oconee County, the Oconee Economic Alliance commissioned Davis & Floyd to provide a feasibility study for sewer service to be operated by Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority to the Fair Play and I-85 Corridor of southern Oconee County. Currently, sanitary sewer infrastructure does not exist along the I-85 corridor in southern Oconee County with the exception of a small package waste treatment plant serving the needs of the SC Welcome Center facility. The study and report present a master plan approach for sewer expansion projects after analyzing potential areas of development with County staff.

To make the project feasible, Davis & Floyd developed a master plan with a phasing plan. The phased plan includes force mains, pump stations, and gravity sewer. This will provide service to most of the larger parcels and groups of smaller parcels, which are believed to be developable. We also assisted with obtaining SCRIA and EDA grants. The funding was obtained for SCRIA in November 2018 and EDA in October 2019.
