Mineral Court Abatement and Demolition

The City of Greenwood needed a designer for the asbestos abatement and demolition of 10 Mineral Court Apartment buildings. The City selected Davis & Floyd to provide the following services: asbestos abatement plans, demolition plans, a survey to determine any other potentially hazardous waste that may need to be properly disposed of prior to demolition, permitting, bidding, and involvement during construction.

Davis & Floyd provided engineering for asbestos abatement and demolition of the 10 Mineral Court Apartment buildings. We coordinated with Greenwood CPW for water, gas, and electrical disconnections and with Greenwood Metropolitan District for wastewater disconnection and/or abandonment. We helped the City of Greenwood select and contract with an Air Monitoring professional as well as accepted bids and assisted the City in contracting with a licensed abatement and demolition contractor. Davis & Floyd provided a land disturbance “notification only” to SCDHEC and coordinated with the requirements of the Community Enrichment Grant from the Community Development Block Grant Program. We developed front-end specifications including bid forms; oversaw the bid process; provided construction administration inclusive of periodic site inspections and a final inspection with subsequent punch list; and responded to contractors’ requests for information.
