Davis & Floyd provided 40 acres of topographic survey and some construction stakeout for the design and construction of a 336,000 SF warehouse distribution facility for Kimura, Inc. in the Matrix Business and Technology Park off of Highway 25 in Piedmont, SC. The site was undeveloped and heavily wooded.

We provided 40 acres of topographic survey, which included 800’ of the Matrix Parkway and accompanying utilities, 2,500’ of a stream, and hundreds of individual trees to meet Greenville County’s tree ordinance. The team mapped topographic survey at a scale of 1’ equal 30’ with a 1’ contour interval and worked under a tight schedule to traverse the perimeter of the site first and stake the clearing limits as we traversed. Additionally, we performed the topographic survey while the contractor installed the silt fence and began clearing and adjusted the grading plan to balance with the ground surveyed contours. The team also staked the warehouse distribution facility for the excavation and pouring of the concrete footings.
