Barnwell County Transfer Station
Davis & Floyd has been providing Barnwell County with Solid Waste Management Services for 36 years. Davis & Floyd designed, permitted, and managed the construction of the on-site Transfer Station in 1998. In 2017, the transfer station was significantly damaged by a tornado. We were asked to design upgrades and repairs to the transfer station.
Our team led the effort to contract the demolition of the old steel structure. Reconstruction design and permitting included raising the overall transfer station slab, adding concrete push walls on either side, adding truck tunnel pavement, and providing additional improvements to operate the facility.
