ASSISTANT TRANSPORTATION PLANNER

Assistant planner position to support land use and transportation planning projects

  • Collect, organize, review, and analyze data obtained through research, interviews, map reviews, land use surveys, socio-economic analysis, etc.
  • Apply physical, social, and economic tools to analyze and provide a comprehensive review of data and present data in a concise form applicable to assigned tasks
  • Prepare charts, tables, maps, and other materials for inclusion in reports and/or use during public meetings
  • Support planning studies under supervision of project manager or other senior staff
  • Requirements:

  • Fundamental knowledge of land use and transportation planning principles and practices
  • Understanding of research and data collection methodologies and applications
  • Ability to perform qualitative and quantitative technical analyses

    ELECTRICAL DESIGNER

    BS degree in electrical engineering with 2 years electrical design experience or BS degree in engineering technology with 5 to 8 years electrical design experience. Experience should include building and site medium and low voltage power distribution design, interior and exterior lighting design, fire alarm system design, digital and analog telecommunications design, security design, and industrial instrumentation and control design. Candidates with experience interfacing with outside architects and designing domestic, sewer, and stormwater pump stations and wastewater treatment equipment are preferred. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office® and AutoDesk AutoCad® is required; proficiency in AutoDesk Revit® is preferred.

    MECHANICAL DESIGNER

    The ideal candidate should possess 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in the specification of HVAC equipment including air handlers, chillers, pumps, boilers, piping, and ductwork. Systems experience preferred for educational, municipal, commercial, and industrial facilities. Knowledgeable in contractor submittal review, management of projects, and mechanical construction activities for projects. This person will collaborate with architects; develop engineering concepts and recommendations; design HVAC systems for both large and small public and commercial facilities; have good organizational, communication, and writing skills; work independently; and efficiently manage workload.     DESIGNER

    Perform field investigations and prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates related to environmental engineering projects with emphasis on municipal water treatment, storage, and conveyance; municipal wastewater treatment; and sanitary sewer system design and rehabilitation. Sanitary sewer system consists of both gravity and pressure sewer systems and includes pump station design. Work with CAD technicians to complete drawings.

  • Possess EIT. BS in civil or environmental engineering or related field
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in designing (preparing drawings and specifications) for municipal water treatment, storage and conveyance, municipal wastewater treatment plants, and sanitary sewer systems or specific academic course work with emphasis on same
