NORTH CHARLESTON, SC

GIS SPECIALIST

Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in GIS mapping / surveying services and a high level of proficiency in ESRI suite applications. Experience should include engineering and planning projects, with database management, raster and vector data editing, and production of detailed deliverables. Experience in planning, inventories, and asset management applications in water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and transportation systems is preferred. Experience in Autodesk applications is a plus. Candidates should be highly motivated, well-organized, and capable of being self-sufficient in operating, maintaining, and advancing GIS and its application in an engineering environment.

ENGINEER INTERN

Minimum of 2 years of experience required with a BS degree in Civil Engineering. Experience should be related to roadway design for public agencies including state departments of transportation and local governments and include knowledge and design capability utilizing Microstation and Geopak software. Exposure to roadway drainage design, NEPA requirements, traffic control, land disturbance permitting, and construction knowledge is strongly preferred. Responsibilities include development of preliminary plans through final construction plans and specifications in accordance with SCDOT methodology. Candidates should be highly motivated.

SENIOR INSPECTOR

Must have at least 10 years of experience, preferably on SCDOT projects. Ability to manage and clearly communicate with staff and contractors is essential. SCDOT certifications preferred. 3+ year duration for major projects in Charleston metro area.

DESIGNER

Duties/Responsibilities (Essential Tasks):

Perform field investigations and prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates related to environmental engineering projects with emphasis on municipal water treatment, storage, and conveyance; municipal wastewater treatment; and sanitary sewer system design and rehabilitation. Sanitary sewer system consists of both gravity and pressure sewer systems and includes pump station design. Work with CAD technicians to complete drawings.

  • Possess EIT. BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in designing (preparing drawings and specifications) for municipal water treatment, storage and conveyance, municipal wastewater treatment plants, and sanitary sewer systems or specific academic course work with emphasis on same
  • Demonstration of the desire and ability to succeed through past accomplishments (examples, above average GPA, work successes, professional and civic leadership, participation in service organizations, awards and honors)
  • Ability and experience in working in a team environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability for some overnight travel as the projects require
